Featured Rose of the Month September 2005

Classy Carol- HT

Photo: Dave Candler

Pale Pink Hybrid Tea
ARS rating:  New 2005
Positives:  disease-resistant, good re-bloom during its first year, and delightful in yard or vase.  Large decorative flowers on straight single stems.  Dark green, glossy foliage.

The plant will be about 4 feet tall, the fragrance light, and the petal count 30.

In my garden the blooms, despite the heat and dry of Summer 2005, have been small, but of delicate and beautiful color.  The plant has been disease free (with spraying).  And the blooms have been a bit stingy in number, but have had competitive form for the exhibitor (when 1/2-2/3 open, thereafter there is a tendency to have a balled center).

This rose was introduced by Edmunds, and is available exclusively, to date.  (My blooms have not demonstrated the strawberry fringe as shown in the catalog [as seen in Double Delight].  Color more subtle, as seen above.

Very much recommended- the color and texture are delightful!
