Rose of the Month-  August 2006

Arcanum
Mini-Queen Harrisburg, PA National Miniature Show 2006
Photo- Dave Candler

Arcanum is an apricot blend miniature hybridized by Robbie Tucker and introduced in 2000. Although classed as a miniature, Arcanum is closer to a Mini- Flora in growth( to 24 inches +) and bloom size ( up to 2 inches). Blooms can be borne singularly and as sprays. The creamy white and dark orange blooms have excellent form and should be a must-have plant for any exhibitor. Arcanum is currently ranked as the ninth best miniature in rose show royalty.

Arcanum takes a while to establish itself and appears to not like being transplanted once established. There is a tendency toward mildew so a preventive spray program is a must. Arcanum is winter hardy and should do well in New England gardens. It has a Roses in Review rating of 7.5.
