Featured Rose of the Month December 2005

Home Run
Shrub

Photo: Gene Sasse

Home Run is a Tom Carruth 2006 introduction rose that has attracted great attention for its brilliant flame red color and excellent resistance to both black spot and mildew.  Parentage includes Knockout and Baby Love.  It is a single bloom, with five petals. But there are many blooms per bush!  The shrub has a bushy growth habit in the northeast, and is low-to-medium height.  Best grown in groups to get the best display.  This is a promising sample of roses with excellent disease resistance that we hope will continue!
